Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a therapeutic form of bodywork using a hands-on approach for manipulation and lengthening of fascia. Fascia, the organ of structure, is a web of thin elastic tissue which exists in continuous layers throughout the body. Just beneath the skin, it forms an envelope that wraps the body as a whole. Beneath this outer layer it organizes the muscles into functional groups, wraps each individual muscle, provides support for organs and joints from head to toe, and acts as the body's shock absorber. Due to trauma, injury, or poor posture, these tissues can become short or thick resulting in fascial binding. Myofascial release techniques decrease pain and discomfort by creating mobility and space within the fascial network of the body.(60 MIN)

Hot stone therapy massage

Hot basalt stones are places on strategic areas of the body in this energy-balancing treatment. The deepest tissue layers are reached with this technique. The stones are also used as massage tools, helping your therapist to penetrate deep, aching muscles. Blood circulation is stimulated, encouraging your body to heal itself. Cold stones are sometimes used to reduce swelling, while aromatherapy oil and Swedish massage techniques combine to bring your body and mind to a state of sublime bliss.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is based on the traditional Japanese technique meant to balance your “ki” or vital energy. It creates equilibrium between energy meridians, the breath, and the vital points along the body, encouraging your system to heal itself. Your therapist will focus on your body’s acupuncture points (knees, elbows, fingers, feet, thumbs, etc.). Weight counterbalancing and stretching are combined with traditional massage techniques to improve flexibility, energy, circulation and postural integrity.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the ancient art of applying pressure to the soles of the feet and palms of the hands to improve health and wellness. Reflex points in these areas correspond to each organ and system of the body, and can be manipulated to address almost any ailment. Muscular tension and stress are reduced, circulation improves, and energy pathways and nerves are unblocked, promoting overall health and relaxation. This preventative treatment will help your body to heal itself.
